I am a catholic

I’m a single man, a lay catholic, and happy to be one.

I’m 59 years old right now, and Jesus saved me when I was a young man in college.

Eventually, he led me to the Catholic faith, which I still believe contains the fullness of his expression of his love for all mankind in his church.

Life is funny. It definitely has its ups and downs, but at the moment I am at peace with my life, and have the time to express my gratitude to god my savior in this little personal blog.

Why did I ultimately choose the catholic faith?

Quite simply, it had the answers to all the questions and concerns that I had as a young man. I was in awe.

It provided me with a tangible family when I was questioning my life and choices.

It eventually led me back to my birth family, which, while imperfect, the past now all of a sudden seemed to make sense.

Childhood trauma? Sure.

Growing pains as a young man. Yes.

Forgiveness and reconciliation. Thankfully.

Christ, god, the Son, came down to us from his eternal place in heaven from the beginning and allowed himself to be wounded and put to death to show us the great compassion he had for our suffering.

Sin? I am a sinner. I am loved by Christ and am reconciled to the Father through the workings of the Holy Spirit.

The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. One God in Three Persons.

In whose name I was baptized as an infant.

Thank you, Father, for sending your Son and the Holy Spirit through the workings of your church.
